Where did you grow up? In Cape Town

Tell me a little bit about yourself I grew up swimming and boarding in Cape Town with the penguins (ha, ha) I love all water sports including wakeboarding, windsurfing, paddleboarding etc. Places I love are Palm Beach County, FL; Seattle, Oregon, Santa Barbara; Kowloon & Changsha, China; Rome, Italy and Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Music? All things techno/trance
Interested in..? people and their experiences
Food? yes (ha, ha) no seriously, one of the weird things I like is salted licorice... it's a Dutch thang. Love delis... ya' know, the good ones.

Favorite kite/surfing spots for you? Jupiter, FL
How long have you been doing this? about 1 1/2 years

Why kite/surfing? The sport is so much bigger than my everyday life / stress.
What does your family think of this? My five years old daughter is sooo into it... she loves her trainer kite and holding onto my harness, while I bodydrag with her... she's all giggles and smiles... she also has so many tips for me... like: "mommy, the waves are easier on the 'inside'" LOL

What does this sport mean to you? It means so much... I love the sport and how it combines everything I love: ocean, sun, sand... beach culture.
Favorite tricks? staying on my board (ha, ha) I'm not that fabulous (yet)love carving the waves, jumping... toeside... will keep you posted!
What does this sport demand of you? FOCUS and humility... I'll go out on 'epic' days.. I don't have any fear about it... but for that to happen I follow my quite ritual of setting up carefully...checking everything twice and then it's ON.
Have you ever been in an accident? Yes, I had a beginner launch me... he let go before the 'thumbs up' ... my lines were twisted...I was tea bagged down the beach and in traction for months... back to the FOCUS thing (ha, ha)
Vision...you wishes for the future - To visit as many kite spots as possible. Where ever I go I plan on visiting as many orphanages as possible and perhaps using each trip to have fun and make a difference.
