Lake Garda Italy kitesurfing school Wind Riders and Limone:

Hello and welcome to Lake Garda Italy kitesurfing school Wind Riders and Limone!

We are a kitesurfing school in Lake Garda, Italy and our experienced instructors will enable you safely to take your first steps in the kitesurfing sport.

Spot's conditions:
The Wind: Lake Garda got very popular among the windsurfers in the eighties. Wind surfers came here for the very consistent thermal winds.
In the morning there is the strong north wind, around 18 to 25 knots. For this wind you normally use kite sizes 7 to 10. But there are days that you are pretty overpowered with a 7 in 30 knots of wind. This wind is called the Pelér.
In the afternoon there is the south wind, the Ora. This wind is a bit less strong and more stable, around 11- 15 knots. On normal days we use kite sizes 10 to 12. But there are days that the Ora is stronger. And on some rare days the wind is less and you might need a 14m kite.
The Water:
The lake is big, over 50 kilometers long. The north shore, where it's windy, is smaller than the south shore. The upper north area, near Riva and Torbole, is reserved for just windsurfing and sailing. From 10 kilometers down the north shore kitesurfing is allowed
There are a few spots where it is possible to kitesurf; Navene, Limone and Campione del Garda. These spots have a small launching beach. In the high season it can get pretty crowded. Because of the crowd and of the unstable wind so close to the mountain, many kiters prefer a boat start.
Accommodation:
There are many campings and hotels in Limone. A very nice hotel is Locanda Ruscello. It is beautifully located, over viewing the lake and only a 10 minute walk away from Wind Riders. Check out the website for the special deal we made with hotel Locanda Ruscello.
You can also choose a camping or hotel in Riva or Torbole. From Riva and Torbole we offer a free transfer to the Wind Riders base in Limone.

lessons at lake garda

I found this school on this website and went there with my girlfriend in the first weeks of September.

My girl friend took the 4 day beginner course and I took the lift service.

The school adviced us to take the first 2 lessons in the morning with the strong wind. For the other lessons we could decided ourself.

The first day I used a 9 meter and Anna used a 7 meter. She learned bodydragging and restarting the kite. The wind was good and stabile the water a bit choppy.

Day 2: We both used a 7 meter. Anna bodydragged upwind, bodydragged with board and made her first waterstarts.

Day 3: The first time we went with the South wind in the Afternoon. I used a 13, Anna a 11.
Nice flat water and stabile wind. But it did get stronger, a smaller kite would have been better at the end. Anna was riding downwind.

Day 4: No wind in the afternoon.

Day 5: Good morning session. Both of us riding 9 meters. it was great fun to be able to ride together. At the end of the session Anna was already learning how to turn.

I'm very happy that Anna learned kitesurfing at this school.

It is very safe to teach from a boat. there is a lot of space. I think the first day she bodydragged 8 kilometer downwind. the instructions are excellent. there is a good balance between instructions and practise. The assistent helped a lot during the first 2 lessons to feel comfortable in the water and to make good progression.

For me the lift service was a nice experience. Riding at different spots. No worries about going downwind.

We had a great time,

Bastian

Think you should take big size kites with you, but it's ok for kitesurfing.

saint martin water photos. Where is Le Galion? Le Galion is the next bay Southeast of buzzling Orient Bay on Saint Martin Island. This laid back beach is surrounded by a coral reef that serves as a protection, providing calm and shallow waters to Le Galion. Le Galion is also a popular hangout for surfing, kite-boarding, and windsurfing enthusiasts. In front of the former "Le Galion Hotel" surfing is perhaps best because of the trade winds coming along the Atlantic coast.Kiteboarding Articles 2008 caliber 2008
