Kiteboarding at Israel
Kiteboarding at Israel is a winning experience.
I travel a lot in my life and had a chance to kite in different spots around the world. But there is something different about Israel beaches...
Maybe it's the spot? Maybe the conditions? Maybe it's the people? Or the local riding culture? I am really not sure what it is, but I one thing is sure - I just LOVE Israel, specially when it comes to kitesurfing....
Israel has amazing kitesurfing beaches, such as Bat Galim (Haifa), Beit Yanay, Tel Aviv, the Sea of Galilee and more.
During my last trip, I visited the Diamond (Tzeelon) beach at the sea of Galilee and had a fun kite session there that day.
I had a chance to meet some great Israeli riders, a growing community of free spirit people,
girls and guys from all over the country that are coming specially to the lake to have their ride.
The speciality of the Sea of Galilee, also called - the Kineret Lake, is that it is a lake, with sweet water.
Great wind, pretty much hard conditions for beginners, rocks, stones and small shore, but magical spot for more advanced riders.
Kiteboarding at Israel: best time is summer
The best time of the year to visit the Lake is July and August, exactly the time I was there!
(even though the wind conditions on this beach are consistent each day and surfers and kitesurfers can enjoy it every day!)
The wind blew between between 20 - 25 knots, with very small waves.
I met on the beach Hagit Oz, Israeli champion and a good friend of mine.
Hagit built a tent on the edge of the water and create kind of a center for riders, to gather together and share their resting time under the shadow.
Hagit also stood as the surfers argument against the authorities that refused to allow kitesurfing activities on that beautiful beach.
You can see more details about Hagit and her activities on the site: b-oz.co.il
My visit was too short, as always, but kiting in Israel - is something that stays in my heart and memories for a long long time.
