Kite Jump Technique

Kite jump technique uses the lift generated by a large power kite to lift you, the rider into the air and then bring you down again.
One foot kite jump technique
To achieve a high jumps there must be good technique and good conditions:
1) High winds
2) Smooth water
3) Fast board that can quite an edge
4) Fast-turning kite (require a large power kite in the region of 6 to 9 m² (65 to 100ft²))
5) Rider skill
6) Decent boots with good ankle protection
7) Helmet (cycling helmet is fine) is recommended.
To make kite jump technique, the rider will need a decent flying site, free of people and other kites.
To get a high jump you need speed to get high.
This is the key ingredient for high jumps. Speed will demand more skill to hold the edge, and more physical endurance on the muscles holding that much kite power down. in order to build speed the rider should reduce edging so he will ride perpendicular to the wind, rather than upwind. The kite will go back in the window a bit and the speed will dramatically increase. Keeping the kite relatively low at this point (45 degrees to the water) is the next step and as the rider reaches the desired speed, he will slowly bring the kite up to 70 degrees to the water. If he's "lit", he will be pulled hardley by the kite and the board will be throwing up a huge spray of water even up into his kite lines. At this point, the rider skill comes in, being able to hold down the power of the kite and not losing his edge.
The kite should be quickly sent upward at this point
or even slightly in the reverse direction. The rider should be edging much harder while the kite is sent to hold the edge more upwind until he can not hold the kite any longer. At this point the edge should be released by pulling your feet up and the board out of the water. The kite rider can even make a jump off the water to help the kite pull him a bit higher into the air. The feet must stay inside the foot straps at all time and must not slip out, or the board will stay "sticked" at the water because of the added surface tension and the rider will find himself flying barefooted.
Feeling too lit, the rider can take his board a bit downwind.
His speed will increase, but he can bear off and bring the kite to point it straight up. When its pointed in the desired direction, the feet must be pushed forward and the rider should lean back and edge, leaning as horizontal as he can go to load up the kite lines. He will be torn from the water to heights never before realized and will have very high kite jump. At this point, he spots landing and claim it by pulling with his forward hand a second before hitting the water. The next step is bendding legs, taking it, and after steering downwind toward the kite a bit, sitting back and edging and continue the ride.
As soon as the rider leave the water for his kite jump technique, depending on his kite size, he will need to steer the kite in order to control the flight. Steering it too far in either direction is not good, the rider might be slung across under the kite and it will hindenburg. Most likely, he will eat it hard a few times before getting the timing right. Some impacts from large kite jumps that were done the wrong way might result in knocking the rider very bad.
It is important to take the first jump step by step.
A rider should not try to do kite jump technique since the beginning. Practicing is the key word for a good kite jumps. The rider should practic the timing by "sending" the kite with progressively more snap each time he kite jumps. When he feels ready to make the kite jump technique, only then he should be trying to send the kite in the opposite direction.
After good practicing allot of jumps, the rider will be able to control the kite increase his hangtimes while jumping. He will also be able to control where he lands. Spins and rolls will come much easier when he will master the art of high jumps, which is undoubtedly the most attractive feature of kitesurfing.
