IKO News:
New Online Education System to Revolutionize IKO Teaching Methods

IKO will soon be offering a new option for both independent kiters and instructors looking to further their education: online courses. These courses, which will cover topics from stretching and self-rescue to boat handling and teaching to children, will allow individuals to continue their study and improve their knowledge and skill sets from the comfort of their own homes.
The IKO-exclusive courses, in the final stages of being developed, will each be tailored to a specific ability level, with some courses available only to advanced kiteboarders and others available only to valid IKO instructors.
The variety of courses offered will provide something for everyone, and will ensure that a kiter of any level will be able to continue to develop her skills through the online education system.
For IKO Instructors, the courses will offer an added benefit - they will allow instructors to stay valid in the IKO system, giving them points for each applicable course completed. Thus, newly validated Level 1 instructors will no longer have to reach Level 2 status by any given date, as long as they stay active and earn the required number of points through online course study.
IKO is excited by the new possibilities created through this new training and educational feature, and hopes to make an even larger impact on the kiting community by providing a form of more accessible education.
The target launch date for the Online Education system is February 20th.
