The 7th Edition of Challenge SXM 2010 ended on Sunday afternoon on the beach of Orient Bay, after two days of intense competition for all riders. In total, one hundred participants were present. More than fifty registrants were from Martinique, Guadeloupe and St. Barts, visitors always delighted by our destination.
Challenge Saint Martin 2010 with real wind
The events began on Saturday with weather favorable for launch quad activities. The 12 knots of wind were a boon for all media. The sleeves have been chained all the days. A picnic in Tintamare to permit riders to recuperate before finishing the sleeves.
A first this year, the participation of surf ski and sea kayaks that made the tower of St. Martin (4:05 for the first). And a raid on a windsurf windsurfers Tintamare youth club. An unforgettable experience which enabled young people to reach for the racers.
Another new kitesurfers have regratté in East Bay over the same course of surfboards, which to put a little spice to the challenge.

A total of 8 rounds have been run. The riders were discovering this new medium, versatile kite boards for the regatta, but also the speed and the long edges of meadows. After a little time to adapt (the boards are more physical and passages qu'al'accoutumée buoys require tactics to avoid tangling lines), the pace has accelerated. The riders were quickly cut to the games. So much so, to compete in speed with windsurfers. The show was guaranteed. A rider ST Martin, Francois Delaporte won the race. The Sunday tested the boards in light winds but the wind was not enough to revive the innings. Go for the 2 nd stage of the Championship in Martinique on 29 and 30 May 2010.
Challenge Saint Martin 2010: Windsurfing: Wind Surfing Adventures Challenge.
In total, 25 registered, including 15 pro surfing have been able to run 5 races on Saturday. No surprises for the winner, Julien Quentel which wins 5 races, closely followed each time not Ricardy Maricel (great shape) and Jean-Marc Peyronnet. This is the usual trio, the only difference that Juju definitely clean sweep instead of 1 in recent years. ... After a round in the East Bay, have drawn on the boarder Tintamare or lunch awaited them. The afternoon was punctuated by a descent into the wind to the East Bay and sleeves with the kite. On Sunday, the wind was too weak to run around the island. The fastest lap of the island remains to fight.
Din was also the culmination of a raid for young windsurfers windsurfing club. Supervised by Robin (computer club), 8 youth 8-14 years are left to attack the island. A raid memorable for some. Congratulations to all the kids have to find the SXM challenge.
Surf ski - KAYAK sea: MAD CO KAYAK CHALLENGE
The Saturday was reserved for qualifiers for the tour of the island. The program, a rebound and turn the island of Tintamare the morning, a long distance to Orient Bay in the afternoon. Just a warm up of 15 km before the turn of 55 km for the day. Fifteen competitors were divided on two categories: long distance for the pro (kayakers team of France were present), and trail course for casual paddlers. On Sunday morning at 8:00, 9 kayakers were launched around the island surf ski (counterclock wise). The first, Frank Fifis, escorted by dolphins to set a record 4 H05. Congratulate the last 6:20 ET thousands of paddle strokes ... Thanks in Guadeloupe (Caribbean Paddler) and the League of Guadeloupe Kayak for their support. The winner of the Game contest MAD CO (Bic Kayak scappa) is Stuart Knaggs, Kayak Club Oyster Pond.
Challenge Saint Martin 2010: CATAMARAN SPORTS: DOLPHIN TELECOM CATA CHALLENGE.
14 teams were present on the Dauphin Telecom Cata Challenge. The disaster came from Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Barts and St. Martin of course. Beasts Race (Nacra, Prindle, Cirrus) which ensured the show in the East Bay and around St Martin on Sunday afternoon. Note the involvement of Weta, a new class of trimaran that flies solo. On Saturday four races were run between Tintamare and Orient Bay. On Sunday, the island tour was launched at 9 pm The first classification, Pascal Marchais in rigging are broken shortly after leaving the tour. Having won the heats of the day, he still finished 1st overall. The first lap of the island, the crew Lede / Jordil St Barth, will loop around the island with their Nacra F 18 in 3:05 min.
