Surf Connect Kitesurfing School is the only Accredited IKO Training School in Brisbane, offering lessons of all levels from beginners to advance level. At the end of each lesson/course, IKO certification cards are issued according to the students level of achievement. The cards are recognized worldwide and give you discounts in insurance, retailers, it also allow you to hire gear at rental centers around the world.
Kitesurfing is an extremely high risk sport and it is most important to take lessons only from professionally qualified instructors, who is not only insured to teach you, but you can be sure that everything you need to learn is taught thoroughly and properly, and are able to give you qualifications that is recognized world-wide.
We use the latest 2008 Hybrid SLE kites in the market and teach with hi-tech (Head-zone) advanced communication radio helmets, giving you maximum progression, safety and security learning environment.
Our lessons are offered seven days a week in Brisbane, and we also have good recommendations of reputable schools in both the Sunshine and Gold Coast.
Airport and hotel pick up service available and accommodation can also be arranged if required.

includes Free DVD with each lesson and IKO certification.
All equipment provided with radio helmets.

We also do a group 'Kitesurfing Experience' session for $50.
Driving directions to Sandgate Beach from Gold Coast
From the Gold Coast, take the M1 up north, then the Bruce Highway, over the Gateway Bridge (toll), past the Airport exit, then Virginia, Nudgee, Boondall (Entertainment Center), and take the next turn off at Bracken Ridge/Sandgate. Go East along Bracken Ridge Road onto Deagon Street, joining onto Brighton Road, take next left onto 6th Ave, and left at the end onto Flinders. And Sandgate beach is on the right 200m up.
Driving directions to Sandgate Beach from Sunshine Coast
From the Sunshine Coast, take the Bruce Highway down south, follow Gateway to the Airport Directions. Once on the Gateway, take the next turn off to Bracken Ridge/Sandgate. 3rd exit on first roundabout, keep right, then turn right following signage to Sandgate. Go along Bracken Ridge Road onto Deagon Street, joining onto Brighton Road, take next left onto 6th Ave, and left at the end onto Flinders. And Sandgate beach is on the right 200m up.
Public transport to Sandgate Beach
From Brisbane City, take train to Sandgate on the Shorncliffe line. Trains run every half hour and normally depart from platform 6 at Central Station. As you come out of the station, cross road in fton of you onto Bowser Parade, end of Bowser turn left onto Brighton Road. This is where all the shops are (Woolworths, banks....). Turn right at any street off Brighton Road and that will take you to the water front (Flinders Parade). Sandgate beach on Flinders Parade between 7th & 8th Avenue.
Where to stay around Sandgate
The best value is the Colonial Motel at 351 Beams Road, Taigum, 8 minutes drive to Sandgate. Tel: 07-3865 0000, website: www.colonialvillage.com.au. You can find their rooms on wotif.com.au for $69.
